According to the National Association of Episcopal schools (www.episcopalschools.org/), more than 1,000 Episcopal schools and early childhood education programs are conducted throughout the Episcopal Church. The organization defines Episcopal schools as "Christian communities whose missions integrate spiritual formation into all aspects of the educational experience." Typically, only about one-quarter of the students are Episcopalians.
